Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje
He attended Baboko Native Authority Primary School, Ilorin, and at same time attended Arabic and Islamic School for all round Islamic Education. He had his Teascher’s Grade II Certificate and National Certificate in Education between 1971 and 1978. He added a Bachelor of Education Arts, in Ahmadu Bello Univeristy, Zaria in 1982.
He worked with Kwara State Government, as a Teacher, Education Administrator, Public Administrator and rose to the position of Permanent Secretary where voluntarily retired without blemish.
Kwara State at the last Presidential campaign council of our great party. He served together with other colleagues from other states at the Legacy House, PDP campaign office as an Assistant Director in-charge of Administration.
He worked closely with Mr. President and commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Umar Musa Yar’Adua on the 2007 pre-campaign tours round the nation as well as presidential campaign rallies throughout the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital.
Alhaji Kawu Baraje was elected the National Secretary of the Party in March 2008 and now the Acting National Chairman of the PDP.

The attention of the South East Zone of the People's Democratic Party has been drawn to spurious publications in a section of the media alleging unfounded claims of bias against the Hon Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah in the recruitment exercise carried out by some parastatals in her ministry.
The leadership of our great Party in the southeast makes bold to state categorically that this baseless allegation is yet another futile attempt by opposition elements to smear the image of the Minister and denigrate her well earned reputation as a distinguished Nigerian and a worthy assets of our great Party, the PDP.
Princess Oduah, though a proud daughter of the Southeast zone, has proven herself to be a detribalized Nigerian both in her private business and in the discharge of her duties as Minister. The current massive upgrading of airports in all the geopolitical zones in the country bear testimony to this.
We are proud to observe that Princess Oduah's performance in office is a major plank of President Jonathan's transformation agenda.
These sponsored provocative publications are designed by opposition elements who are envious of her sterling performance and who feel threatened by her rising profile as a dedicated minister and exemplary member of our great Party.
For the records, Princess Oduah is not involved directly or indirectly in staff recruitment of any parastatal under her. There is a well established bureaucracy to handle such matters while she concerns herself with the huge task of driving the well applauded reforms in the aviation sector.

Our condolences to the families of the victims of the Dana plane that crashed while flying into Lagos from Abuja and we pray that the Almighty God will grant them the strength to bear their loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nigeria in this time of grief.
